Allergy and Asthma Research Centre (AARC) is an indigenous nonprofit able organization working towards development and research in the field of Allergy and Clinical Immunology. This organization, was formed in the early Nineties, having been conceptualized by the Late Prof. (Dr) Sachin Choudhuri, MB. PhD. a renowned clinical Immunologist and Late Brig. (Dr) Nirendra Chandra Das, MB. DARCP&S (Lon), FICS, FCCP (USA) a Vir Chakra awardee and also a renowned Pulmonologist.
Presently headed by Dr. Santanu Kr. Tripathi , a renowned scientist of School of Tropical Medicine, Kolkata ably supported by his eminent allergist colleagues Dr Arijit Das, Dr. Saibal Moitra, Dr. Aratrika Das, Dr. Sambosamrat Samajdar, Dr Ayan Sikdar, Dr. Ritabrata Mitra, Dr Surojit Chatterjee the Research Centre with an invaluable research guidance provided by Prof Gautam Saha of Zoology department University of Calcutta, Dr. Jayati Das of Shri Shikshayatan College. The organization had a privilege to have Late Prof Sunirmal Chanda of Centre for Study of Man and Environment (CSME) and our late President as the mentor. The centre hopes to increase awareness and understanding about allergic disorders, their manifestations and ultimate resolution among the general populace.
